Ummmmm....Today

Well an interesting day so far....
1. Woke up a teensy bit late which threw off my whole morning routine
2. Got to work and my computer was acting up, tried the shutdown, turn back on approach...no good.
3. Called IT "guy."  Guess what, he's leaving in a few hours for a weeks long vacation and he thinks I have a virus.
4. Take a moment to determine whether or not I should continue with this day or just drive home and try to start over (mind you it is only 8:15 am by this point).
5. Drive to our home office asap and he'll "see what he can do." Sigh.
6. Talk to hubby on the way after getting a text that Mia was sad when he dropped her off at the sitter this morning.  I hate that feeling some days.  We might possibly have, in fact we do have, the best sitter line up on this planet, however no matter how great they are, it's still not Mommy or Daddy and there is a lot of guilt that comes from that (major run on sentence, but it's Friday and I don't care).  I will NEVER get over that I quite assure you.
7. Arrive to home office and am told that said IT "guy" has no time to fix before he heads out of town, so he hands me a "temporary" computer to use until his return.  I walk out with my sick computer and her grandma. Lord help me.
8. He informs me that I will not have my normal email, but will have to work remotely through the internet.  Crappy...so crappy.  Working remotely is awful, seriously, so bad.  A day or two fine, but 6+ days may require meds.
9.Arrive back to office 35 minutes late for a meeting (thank goodness I have the assistant that I do) and catch up to speed and continue for another hour.
10. In office, set up new "set up" and now my monitor doesn't work, so I'm officially on the laptop all week. No normal screen, just mini screen. Annoyed. Hungry.
11. Notified that we have some random lady selling jewelry in our vendor lounge in my building.  Had to kick her out for soliciting. Weirdo.  This is private property lady.
12. Lunch.  Take 3 phone calls in between bites and checking FB and Twitter.
13. Back to business, trying to finish a cost analysis for a construction project on my tiny grandma screen (with Excel and spreadsheets = super NOT fun).
14. Realize I need to "word it out" so I am here.

The day is almost done and that means time with Mia, wine, more time with Mia, Husband and no alarms.  Sunday is a spa day with my Mom and sisters, so super excited about that.

Things could be worse.  So hears a look on the bright side and just remembering we have chocolate in our office.

Aaaaahhhhh...now I feel better.

Now, back to work.

Happy Weekend!  I hope it's a GREAT one for all of you.

New Header, New Header...Check It Out

Last night I put together a collage of some of my favorites to officially replace the giraffe header that I've always used.  I like it!  It's fun and is a little more personal than the giraffe.

Why a giraffe you may ask?  I'm a fan.  Always have been.  I even have a giraffe tatt on my back.

There is some history and meaning behind the name of this blog, but I'll save that for another post.

In the meantime, enjoy my new header picture and let me know what you think!

Happy Day Before Friday and.....the WEEKEND!

Feed Me Seymour

Our city has a ton of great venues, events, parks, etc., but one of my absolute favorites is our ampitheatre in Forest Park, The Muny.  I love it so much we even had some of our engagement pictures taken there.

It's a bazillion years old and it's just boasting with character.  A few summers back when I was pregs with Mia, my sisters and I purchased season tickets for my Mom for Mother's Day.  Neither of my other two sisters could ever go most of the summer, so I was lucky to see most of the shows with my Mom.  I had been in the past as a kid, young adult and partial grown up, but that summer reinvented my love for theatre and the arts.

Tonight, my Mom and I are going back for one of our favorites....Little Shop of Horrors.  This was one of my favorite movies growing up and now I'm going to see it on stage.
And tonight, to celebrate our Mother/Daughter bonding time, sing along fun, I may just get a glass of vino to wash down my popcorn...because I am just.that.classy!

Here's to hoping it's not 103.5 degrees outside this evening!

Hope you're having a great week!

Holy Slacker Batman

Blogging, what is that?  Seriously, so little extra time right now.  Work...crazy busy.  Life...crazy busy and full of summer fun. Child...growing like a weed and staying up later which cuts into my blogging time (but that is OK by me, I love the extra time we have in the evenings now).  Husband...handsome as ever and still the absolute love of my life.

I'll be back soon.  I have pictures from Mia's last (tear) official first that occurred over the weekend.  Maybe, just maybe I'll get them on here tonight.  But maybe not.  Headed straight to the pool from work for some night swimming with my favorite daughter and my favorite parents!  I'm sure by then it will have cooled down to 96 or so.  The brutal July heat of the Lou!  Wheeeee....summer!

Happy Tuesday!  See you soon.

Yours truly,
Slacker.

Coming Down Off Of Our Vacation High

I am 6 days post vacay and I'm finally starting to feel like we are back in some sort of routine. By next week, after I have time to get groceries, other necessities back into the house and finally get some sense of order back in the house (there is still "stuff" everywhere), we'll be golden.

I finally finished editing all 500+ (yes, 500) pictures last night. It took me most of this week to get through them all.

I'm lucky and I am very blessed. Going through all of my pictures I just really realize how amazing my family is. Don't get me wrong, I do fully realize this already, but sometimes spending time together outside of the "norm" can really put a stamp on it. It really gives me to time to reflect and watch. Now, let's be real, it's not always rainbows and unicorns, but that doesn't matter, that would be weird anyway. I love them all so much and I'm so glad we were able to take this vacation. We all needed a break from the schedule, the routine, the grind, whatever you call it. Hubby got a lot of one on one with Mia, which he loved (and so did Mommy as she was able to get some alone time poolside). My sister even got a surprise trip from her hubby to come all by herself (she has two kiddos). We made memories and I have way too many pictures to document it.

Here are a couple of my favorites:

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I'm Baaaaaack...

We had an awesome time and are still trying to recover and catch up.  More pictures to come, but for now I'll just leave you with this one.

Hope everyone is doing well!
