Yellow Polka Dot Bikini

Here's the deal. I'm trying to lose 20 pounds. Why you ask? Well, two reasons. One - pregnancy. Two - bikini. I eat pretty well. We're not fast food eaters. We cook almost all of our meals from scratch, at home. It's safer that way. My hubby and I both believe in knowing what goes into our food as best we can. Let's be honest, I have my moments of weakness, but hello, I'm human (chocolate, cookies, Chinese food, occassional Taco Bell). During the week, I'm a very good girl if you don't count the glass of wine every once in a while (ok, almost every night). On the weekends, I'm a little bit more flexible if I want to be. I used to work out....a lot. I played college volleyball. We worked out constantly and I kept that up after college, not 3+ times a day of course, but I did ok. Fast forward several years and then I had a baby. I worked out most of my pregnancy with the exception of the last month or so when I couldn't see nor touch my toes. After baby I was very good once I got the green light to go back to the gym and then by Memorial Day I had fallen completely off the wagon. Sad face. Between working full time and being a mom I couldn't find the balance. Working out was what I was willing to sacrifice. Not my job and of course not my baby. So I've put realistic expectations on myself for this year because last year I just did not. I gave myself an agenda I could never have kept up with, especially not with my child as my number one priority. Step One was realizing that I am not a college athlete anymore. Step Two was realizing I'm not 18-21 years old anymore (bummer). Step Three was realizing I am now a Mom and therefore my priorities are much different (and waaaaaaaaay better). I have 10 more pounds to lose to get back to my pre-preggers weight and then I would like to lose another 10 pounds and actually wear a bikini when I get to Mexico in June. My stomach is not horrible, but it is definitely NOT what it used to be. Right now, no belly shaking or showing for me. It's a work for the reward now. Work hard and rock it on the beach in a few months. You can do eeeeet (voice from Rob Schneider in Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo)!!! Small problem:

Ooops! I just couldn't help myself. It's Monday and I was kind of crabby so I went for it. It's amazing how much better I feel. See, told ya.....I'm only human.

Maybe I should just download my weight loss theme song. "She wore an itsy, bitsy, teeny, weeny..." (I really want it to be pink though).

I'm thinking this one:

One of my FB buddies has it and it's adorable!

Or maybe this one:Don't you love the fact that I included two pictures of supermodels in this post. I totally look like a combination of both of them by the way. I just refused VS' offer to be a model. I like commercial real estate so much better. Have a great week!

Dang you. Now I am dying for taco bell or chinese food, haha! Apparently I am lacking in sodium today :)

Good luck with your weight loss goals! I am already fearing what a baby is going to do to my body (totally worth it, I am certain, but still...ack!) and we aren't even thinking about babies just yet, ha!

Thanks! In reading your posts, you take very good care of yourself and that is key, in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, your body changes, but is much more likely to "bounce" back if you keep better shape of yourself prior to getting pregnant and during your pregnancy.
